MODULE 1: How to teach seniors?

Overall presentation of nine important areas of areas when it comes to teaching and train senior citisens.

The IT teachers will

  1. be presented to the following 9 areas and in order to take these 9 aspects into consideration – teaching senior citizens to become more digital competent.
    • Knowledge on ageing regarding retention and cognitive abilities
    • Memory retention
    • Understanding different learning processes
    • Repeating
    • Patience
    • Simple steps
    • Active listening
    • Empathetic approach
    • Feedback
  1. be presented to a deeper understanding of each of the 9 areas and come to a better understanding of have they integrate each of these 9 individual aspects in their pedagogical planing of IT courses for seniors and performing their training program teaching seniors to develop their IT competences, in different areas.
  2. Be given the opportunity to share the experiences regarding the 9 presented aspects.

Be given the opportunity to present other important aspects for discussion and to identify best practice among the participating ITteachers.

  • Power point presenting essential comments and statements regarding the 9 different areas.
  • Plenum discussion regarding the IT-teachers understanding of these 9 aspects and their practical experiences with these 9 areas.
